Agreements concerning the Howard Iron Works, 1832, 1844, and 1854.

Jacob Lex of Philadelphia, Pa., sold the right title to the Howard Furnace, Centre County, Pa., to William A. Thomas, held in common by Thomas, Joseph Harris, and James D. Harris, in exchange for 170 acres of the Harris family farm, 230 acres adjoining Nittany Mountain surveyed in the name of Michael Hahn, and thirty-five shares of stock in the Bald Eagle and Spring Creek Navigation Company, 23 August 1832. William A. Thomas, George Valentine, Mary Ann Harris for J.D. Harris's share, and Thomas G. Downing agreed to pay $3,000 on shares held in the Howard Iron Works to pay the debts of the late firm of Valentine, Harris & Co., August 1844. A memorandum of agreement between William A. Thomas of Bellefonte, Pa., and Benjamin Etting of Philadelphia, in which Thomas sells his one-seventh share in Howard Iron Works for $10,000 was signed 17 May 1854.
